The best flea control will always be prevention. Regular and consistant use of repellants indoors and outdoors and on your pet will reduce the risk of recurring problems. Getting control of the flea problem will require a 3-step process. Treat your home, your outdoor pet area and your pet. You must vacumn daily, especially in high traffic areas. Enclose your vacumn bag in a plastic bag and discard immediately. Use carpet powders, foggers in large open areas, and sprays on your baseboards, mouldings, cracks & under furniture where foggers can't reach. Wash pet's bedding weekly and treat the area with an adulticide & an insect growth regulator. Clean and treat all areas where your pet spends time. Fleas like warm, moist, shady places so rake any leaves, straw and grass clippings. Treat your yard and kennels regularly with an insecticide spray or wash. Flea control on the pet will require patience. Topicals are easiest to use, last the longest and applied monthly. Sprays are available in either aerosol or pumps. Another option is a dip or shampoo.
